10 Small Decor Changes to Cozy Up For Fall

We’ve officially entered the cozy, chunky sweater season of Fall. The transition from Summer to Fall is a Cozier favorite because - I’m sure you can guess - we’re all about living a life that’s warm, comfortable and cozy! One way to lovingly welcome in a new season is decorating your home. You don’t need to make your space into a pumpkin patch extravaganza, but there are ways to minimally cozy up your space to welcome in the Autumn season. Giving your home a gentle and warm refresh just feels so good.

Here are our 10 small ways to cozy up your space for Fall:

  1. Switch out all your throw pillows for more festive, Fall-inspired ones.
Throw pillows have the ability to instantly add a fun, vibrant touch to your room. Whether in your living room or bedroom it’s a simple, fun and inexpensive way to bring a little Fall into the space. Play with different cozy textures like knit and velvet and warm colors like burnt orange. You can never have too many pillows!

  1. Add seasonal floral arrangements.
Flowers brighten up any room and should be considered a must-buy at your local farmer’s market. This week, make it a point to buy a fall bouquet filled with sunflowers and fall foliage to brighten up your home. Adding a natural element to your home can instantly boost your mood and making it seasonal brings even more life into the mix.
  1.  Pumpkins, and more pumpkins!
Does Fall even exist without pumpkins? We think not! Pumpkin decor comes in so many different colors and styles so you can get really creative with it. Add a few throughout your home or one or two in a room here and there - it’s really up to you! This year is all about the white pumpkins but the classic orange pumpkin is a great choice as any! Pair them with your floral arrangement, use as a table centerpiece or add to your mantel. We think pumpkins look great next to a Cozier candle!

  1. Swap light blankets for thick, chunky throws.
It’s time to pack up all the light wear and summer essentials and replace them with heavier and cozy throws and clothing. Similar to your pillows, throw blankets are a simple way to add a touch of fall in your home without it being too in your face. It also adds texture and an instant taste of warmth and comfort. The thicker and chunkier, the better.
  1. Add candles to create a cozy atmosphere.
A softy, flickering glow from a candle creates gentle and calm energy throughout your space. Candles also bring in a classic, intimate touch that everyone craves in the cooler, crisper months. Go warm and earthy with scents like sandalwood and amber featured in Nomad and Terre or lighter and flowery with white rose, lemongrass and gardenia found in the Vivre and Aura Cozier candles.

  1. Bake a loaf of pumpkin bread and stock up on pumpkin-spiced everything.
Baking makes everyone happy! A loaf a pumpkin bread and pumpkin-spiced coffee turns your kitchen into Autumn heaven. We’re big fans of all the amazing pumpkin goodies you can buy at Trader Joe’s!
  1. Change out all your fabrics to fall tones.
Like your throw pillows and blankets, switching up all your fabrics in your home from your curtains to your towels and sheets can elegantly welcome in a new season. Use warmer colors such as reds, oranges, dark yellows, and browns, or get a little fun and festive with fall patterns like leaves and pumpkins.

  1. Stock your spice cabinet with nutmeg, pumpkin and more.
Fall spices are distinguished and highly recognizable. Make sure you’re all stocked up so you can begin adding them to your favorite dishes. Fall spices include nutmeg, clove, ginger, allspice, turmeric, star anise, cardamon, rosemary, saffron, cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice.
  1. Add fall dish towels to your kitchen.
This is so easy to do it’s a no-brainer! Add a touch of Fall to your kitchen by replacing all your dish towels to more festive, and Fall-inspired ones. You can put in on display by draping one over your oven rack or use a simple, warm-colored towel for drying.
  1. Buy seasonal fruits and veggies.
Last, but not least. A functional and beautiful way to bring Fall into your home is to buy a ton of seasonal fruits and veggies. Pumpkin, of course, but also squash, apples, sweet potatoes, grapes, persimmon, and cauliflower (to name a few). Get creative in the kitchen and treat your family to a Fall-flavored dish!

Once you’ve made these beautiful little touches to your home honor your space by smudging around your home. Curl up with a book or watch your favorite show and RELAX.
